Hey all, Right, the progcomp website can now take submissions/entries for the competition. There's a "Submit Solution" link on the left hand side of the website when you can submit either a single .java file or an archive of multiple files if necessary, but one file would be the ideal situation. Remember to use your @warwick.ac.uk when submitting entries so we are sure a) you are from Warwick, b) we can look up names. Since the system will email you back what you submitted to us (so you can check the right stuff arrived), you'll need to be able to check your warwick.ac.uk mail. If for some strange reason your @warwick.ac.uk mail is broken, or you can't check it, email me and we can sort something out. Entries will be taken until 6pm Monday 9th January, after that the submission page will be closed. You can enter as many times as you like, but the last submission will be taken as your final entry, so if you have 2 files, put them in one zip/tar.gz archive so we don't mistake the last file for your entry. Now, prizes! We've decided on the following breakdown for prizes: 1st Prize: £250 2nd Prize: £100 3rd Prize: £75 which you'll notice comes to £425. The remaining £75 will be set-aside for other notable entries that didn't make the Top 3. It might be that your controller scored the best goal, most goals, had a great tactic, good defensive record, or was just written really well, so the Top 3 isn't everything. So if anyone perhaps started writing a controller before/during the Christmas holidays and didn't quite get it working, perhaps the money will act as an incentive? We're not expecting tens and tens of entries, so even a good controller stands a good chance of winning some cash! Well, get polishing and remember to submit a controller before 6pm Monday. Good luck, Adam Miles
